Tamuning, Guam – (Marketwired – June 17) – A civil society group in Guam has scheduled an awareness forum on human sex trafficking at University of Guam, Fine Arts Theatre on Saturday, August 9, from 6:00-9:00pm.

The event will feature various keynote speakers and include a screening of ‘Nefarious: Merchant of Souls’, a documentary film on human sex trafficking throughout the world.

The awareness forum and film screening is being organized by War on Human Trafficking Association (WOHT), a civil society group of member organizations, who recently launched Waronhumantrafficking.info and social media pages at Facebook to broaden the awareness on human sex trafficking to the general public and alert followers and supporters about upcoming events and activities.

WOHT’s pursuit to combat human trafficking has gained support from affiliates and bodies of United Nations, European Parliament, and local organizations. Cary Lee Peterson, a representative of WOHT says that ‘they are planning awareness forums and screenings of Nefarious in other regions of Asia-Pacific, Europe, and United States later this year following the first event in Guam’. Peterson encourages the public to follow WOHT via blog or social media for details and updates.
