Guam – Another school had been broken into, this time it was C.L. Taitano Elementary School in Sinajana.
According to Guam Police Department Spokesperson A J. Balajadia, yesterday morning at around 7:30, it was reported that eight classrooms from the elementary school had been burglarized, with school items scattered around the floor. This break in comes on the heals after Okkodo High school was vandalized on Sunday night. Yesterday Okkodo Staff members say 47 classrooms had been vandalized, with numberous door windows shattered and the special education room spray painted.
Officials from both schools are still assessing and cleaning up the damages done by the vandals.
Balajadia says, “The Guam Police Department would like to remind the public that our children are out of school on vacation. Some kids become bored and get themselves into trouble. If your a parent who works and has to leave your children home, make sure you know what their doing throughout the day, by checking up on them. He also adds that Parents are responsible for their children actions.
In addition Balajadia adds, “During the holidays while our children remain on vacation, the Guam Police Departments auxiliary officers will be out enforcing the curfew law. The public can help by calling the Guam Police Department and reporting illegal activity. If you see a group of kids in an area, and things don’t seem right to you, call the Guam Police Department and ask for an officer to make a check.”
