Guam – Untalan Middle School will resume classes at its temporary campus in Tiyan Tuesday as planned.
486-5245 (735-3110): Main office
486-5064 (735-3119): Student Support Office
486-5117 (735-3128): Business Office & Administrator Officer
486-5150 (300-2722): Counselors & Computer Operator
A new bus schedule has been released for Untalan Middle School students.
The news was made official by the Governor’s office at 5:30pm Monday following the issuing of permits by regulatory agencies and the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between the Governor’s Office and the Department of Education by Attorney General Leonardo Rapadas, Guam Education Board Chairman Francis Santos, and Core Tech International LLC. GEB’s vote to move the school to the Tiyan Campus last week required that the MOA be in place before the school opened in Tiyan.
Inspectors from the Department of Public Health’s Division of Environmental Health were on the temporary campus this morning and issued a sanitary permit for the school to operate this afternoon. Department of Education Acting Deputy Superintendent Robert Malay says the Sanitation Permit was the last permit that needed to be issued before an Occupancy Permit could be awarded.
UMS’s Barrigada Campus was closed on January 12th after an inspection by Public Health Officials found the campus did not meet Health and Safety Regulations. Students missed six days of instruction as a result of the closure, those days are expected to be made up using the six remaining “Flexible make up days” listed on the DOE calendar.

However, the MOA is not official yet until the AG and the Governor sign it.
