CNMI drug task force arrests 2 Chinese, seizes meth


The CNMI Drug Enforcement Task Force has arrested two Chinese and seized a dozen grams of methamphetamine along with digital scales, packaging materials and drug paraphernalia.

During the early morning hours on Feb. 22, the CNMI Drug Enforcement Task Force (CNMI DETF) executed a search warrant at a residence in China-Town.

Upon searching the home CNMI DETF officers recovered 12.8 gross-grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, digital scales, and packaging materials. The drugs seized have a street value of about $8960.00.

Each suspect is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance and trafficking of a controlled substance. Both suspects were arrested pursuant to an Arrest Warrant issued by Superior Court Judge Joseph N. Camacho. Their bail is set at $100,000 (U.S. dollars) each.

The task force consists of officers from the CNMI Department of Public Safety, CNMI Division of Customs Service, and the CNMI Department of Corrections
