Guam -A Coast Guard search for a reported “distressed swimmer” off Asan Beach was called off at 10am Tuesday morning after officials determined it was a false alarm.
Search and Rescue Controller Leif Wigman told PNC this morning that a report of “distressed swimmers” was called in at about 5pm Monday night. The person making the report said that they saw two people out in the water.
One Paddle Boarder made it back to shore and told rescuers that he was alone in the water. A search continued in case there was another swimmer at sea. Coast Guard Public Information Officer Lt. Commander Felton Gilmore says the search was called off at 10am Tuesday after it was determined to be a false alarm.
