“I just wonder how will you guys have the kids make up for all these missed days?” –concerned parent.
Guam – In related news, some parents were so unhappy with the news of another delay at Guahan Academy Charter School that they took to social media to express their concerns.
One parent lambasted the school for not receiving a call informing her of the delay.
She wrote: “I just want to know why [you would] open the doors only to have these children go to school for one day? And also, I never received a call that there would be no school for my middle school [student].”
Another frustrated individual vented: “I just wonder how will you guys have the kids make up for all these missed days? Taking away holidays or their breaks for holidays will not be fair at all…or to even extend their school year for that matter!”
Still, another asked for more clarity if the students would be sent home this morning via the bus.
One parent tells PNC that the cancellation was announced last evening, but the notice wasn’t posted online until just after 8 am today.
The charter school cited low water pressure in the area as the main reason for the closure, but other issues such as constructional delays and occupancy permits have yet to be addressed.
This is now the third time GACS has reportedly delayed the start of the academic year.
