Contractors are conducting controlled detonations today at Andersen Air Force Base to remove unexploded ordnance.

People in the local area may hear loud explosions throughout the day.

An exclusion zone has been set up in the munitions storage area and guards will be stationed on the roads to prevent anyone from entering during the detonation process.

No road closures are anticipated off the installation.

These items were discovered during routine clearance operations.
