Couple arrested for theft of vehicle, possession of illegal drugs

On Tuesday, September 7, 2021, officers from the Southern Precinct Command located a vehicle wanted for theft of service complaint in the Piti area.

A pursuit ensued in which the subject vehicle had run off the roadway on Route 2A by Naval Station in Santa Rita. Officers were able to detain a man and a woman later identified as, 45-year-old Eric Jay Meno and 36-year-old Thomasheena Pinaula Rios.

Through the course of the investigation, officers learned that the subject vehicle was reported stolen with suspected drugs discovered in the vehicle. Both individuals were transported to the Southern Precinct Command.

Eric Jay Meno was arrested for the following offenses:

-Theft of a Motor Vehicle
-Theft of Service
-Illegal Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance
-Fraudulent Use of a License Plate
-Reckless Driving
-Eluding a Police Officer
-Imprudent Driving
-Failure to Comply
-No Driver’s License and
-3 Counts of Warrants of Arrest

Thomasheena Rios was arrested for the following offenses:
-Theft of a Motor Vehicle
-Illegal Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule II
-Theft of Service and

Both Meno and Rios were subsequently booked and confined at the Department of Corrections. This case has been forwarded to the Office of the Attorney General for prosecution.
