Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero will comment on her position regarding the next steps for the government of Guam in light of the 9th Circuit decision favoring Dave Davis in the plebiscite case.

The Commission on Decolonization will host its regular monthly meeting on Aug. 6 and a discussion of the recent Dave Davis ruling is high up on the agenda.

In light of the recent ruling from the Ninth Circuit Court in the high-profile plebiscite case, Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero and Attorney General Leevin Camacho will be present to address the Commission Board and all those in attendance.

According to Adelup, the Attorney General will brief the commission on the Ninth Circuit Court’s ruling while the governor will comment on her position regarding the next steps for the government of Guam.

“We are facing a pivotal moment in our quest for self-determination. I encourage all stakeholders and anyone who may want to be involved or learn more about the decolonization process to attend, provide input, or, at the very least, become more educated about this issue and pay attention,” the governor said in a statement sent by Adelup.

The Commission on Decolonization meeting is on Aug. 6, 3 p.m., at the Cabinet (Large) Conference Room of the Ricardo J. Bordallo Governor’s Complex.
