Guam- Monday, December 6 is the deadline for those wanting to drop off unwrapped gifts or have picked up an adoption card for the Sugar Plum Tree.
Executive Director Kathy Kernaghan says the non profit organization has reached its 26th year in bringing holiday cheer to abused, neglected and needy children, disabled adults and senior citizens who receive little or nothing for Christmas. So far, Kernaghan says she’s thankful they received more than 200 gifts at its 3 Bank of Hawaii locations from the community. And come Monday, they will be expecting a tidal wave of over 400 packages.
“Anybody who hasn’t picked a name and wants to, they can certainly go to any of those locations and pick a name and buy their gift. And unfortunately, Monday is the deadline to turn in the gifts so we would ask them to please react quickly and get the gifts in to us. They can return the gifts to the 3 banks or the Girl Scouts Service Center as well.”
Kernaghan is also inviting the public to volunteer for their “Big Wrap” event on Saturday, December 11 at the Bank of Hawaii in Hagatna. Call (671) 477-0496 for more details.
If you miss the December 6 deadline, Toys For Tots is collecting donations of new unwrapped toys until December 22 at various locations on island. For more information, check out www.toysfortots.org .
