Ahead of this Wednesday’s highly anticipated #instaGuam Travel Talks Digital Global Summit, the Guam Visitors Bureau is calling out college students to enter into a contest to attend the region’s first premier-travel technology conference.
According to GVB President and CEO Pilar Laguana, 12 lucky student winners will be selected to attend the Travel Talks summit for free. Student candidates must be 18 years or older and enrolled in the University of Guam and Guam Community College for the upcoming fall semester.
Their focus areas should be in business, tourism, hospitality, marketing, or communications. Laguana says this is the perfect opportunity to learn about the digital trends affecting our region and the world.
“For the students themselves, we would like them to grow. This is something that comes in a rare while. So this is just as much as, I think as important for us, for our future leaders in the industry. Gives them something really to help understand what’s going on today,” Laguana said.
Students should go to guamtraveltalks.com/student to enter. The deadline is tonight before midnight and the final selection and notice will be made tomorrow. Travel Talks aims to bring together the tourism industry, disruptive technology companies and global social media influencers to discuss digital trends.
The conference will be held at the Dusit Thani Guam Resort on Aug. 14 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
