Dededo flea market will partially re-open to sell farmers’ produce

Some of the island's farmers expressed their concerns about not being able to make ends meet and not having a way to sell their excess produce because of the COVID-19 restrictions.

For the first time in weeks, the Dededo flea market will partially reopen tomorrow to provide a drive-thru service for fresh produce.

Fresh fruit and vegetables will be sold by local farmers who will be spaced out throughout the market as part of social distancing measures.

Dededo Mayor Melissa Savares told K57’s Patti Arroyo that the produce will be placed in bags and distributed to lessen physical contact and prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The partial reopening of the Dededo Flea Market will be tomorrow, Saturday, from 6 am to 9 am.
