Dededo Man Arrested After Allegedly Attacking Man with Machete


Guam -A 56-year old Dededo man has been arrested on charges of Aggravated Assault and Attempted Murder after police say he struck a 60-year old man with a machete while the victim was visiting a relative in the Astumbo Dededo area.

Guam Police Spokesman Officer A.J. Balajadia says the victim was visiting his sister in Astumbo and the suspect, David San Nicolas Mesa, is the sister’s neighbor.  According to Balajadia Mesa and the victim have a long history of disagreements which resulted in a disturbance between the two.

The victim received defensive wounds to both forearms.  He received stitches for the injuries at Guam Memorial Hospital and was released.

Mesa was booked and confined.
