The contract postal units in Dededo and Yigo have been temporarily closed by US Postal Service due to an ongoing audit.
In a statement sent to PNC, Duke Gonzales, USPS Strategic Communications Specialist, said the closure of the two CPUs will allow the USPS to complete an audit of their operations.
Gonzales apologized to customers for the inconveniences caused by the closures.
During these closures, he said they are asking Dededo and Yigo P.O. Box customers to pick up their mail over the counter at the Barrigada Post Office.
At the moment, USPS does not know when the two CPUs will reopen.
According to Gonzales, Contract Postal Units or CPUs are supplier-owned or supplier-leased facilities operated by private vendors under contract with the Postal Service to provide postal products and services to the public at U.S. Postal Service prices.
