DEMOCRATS ANNOUNCE JEFFERSON JACKSON DINNER PLANS
Democratic State Chair Sen. Rory J. Respicio announced today that the Democratic Party’s annual Jefferson Jackson Dinner will be held in September and will be co-chaired by Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo, Senator Tina Muna Barnes, and Sinajana Mayor Robert Hofmann.
The plans and the leadership were finalized at the last week’s meeting of the Democratic Party’s Central Executive Committee.
At the meeting, Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo publicly endorsed Governor Carl T.C. Gutierrez and Attorney Gary Gumataotao for Governor and Lt. Governor, as well as all 15 Democratic senatorial candidates. After referring to Governor Gutierrez as “partner” Bordallo went on to say:
“I am a Democrat.. Let me make it very clear tonight that I am supporting the candidacy of Governor Gutierrez and Mr. Gumataotao.”
Sinajana Mayor Robert Hoffman and Vice Mayor Rudy Iriarte were also in attendance and conveyed their support for the Gutierrez-Gumataotao ticket.
State Chair Respicio stated, “Given this show of unity, I am absolutely convinced we will have a well attended and successful Jefferson Jackson Dinner.”
