The second dengue presentation will be held tonight at B.P. Carbullido Elementary School in Barrigada at 6 p.m.
The presentation is part of an aggressive outreach commitment by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to provide the Guam Department of Public Health and Social Services with technical assistance on epidemiological surveillance, monitoring, and risk communications.
As of yesterday, Oct. 2, there are no new confirmed cases of dengue and to date, there remain eight confirmed cases of locally acquired dengue infection and four confirmed cases of imported dengue infection.
DPHSS continues to receive clinical reports of suspect cases as a result of the department’s increased community outreach and timely reporting by Guam healthcare providers.
After the Barrigada dengue presentation, the next one will be held next week, Oct. 8, at Merizo Elementary School, at 6 p.m.
All are invited to attend the informational briefings on dengue, to learn more about the virus, efforts you can take to protect you and your family, and ongoing response efforts by the government.
