The truck will also be used for general maintenance and duties around the area where the wind turbine is located.
Guam – The Department of Agriculture received a big boost to their operations from an unusual source…the Guam Power Authority.
Thanks to a partnership between the Department of Agriculture and GPA on the brand new wind turbine project, the agency received a brand new $62,000 truck to help with various duties around the area, including helping fight forest fires, this according to department of agriculture director Matthew Sablan. CCU Chairman Joey Duenas said GPA gave the truck because the Department of Agriculture allowed the power agency to build their new wind turbine on a conservation site.
“This is a $62,000 truck, the government is struggling for cash, we understand that and where we can help, and we help. So this gives them a truck, they didn’t have to buy it, we bought it for them,” said Duenas.
