Cruz was among 5 people across the Pacific who picked the winning number in the Sports Bingo drawing on Friday August 6th.

Cruz  was among 5 people across the Pacific to pick the winning number which was worth a grand total of $2.5 million.

Cruz told PNC News earlier that this was the first time he had ever bought a Sports Bingo ticket. “I was actually shocked I won,” he said. “I didn’t know if it was the winning ticket, so I brought it to get it scanned and they told me it was the winning ticket.”

The 35 year old says he will be using his winnings to take care of bills and invest in getting a house.

Sports Bingo Guam General Manager Garry Yeates says the actual check presentation to Cruz will occur in a couple of weeks. The Guam Olympic Committee sells the Sports Bingo tickets to raise money for the island’s Olympic team.
