Docomo Mangachongs Get First Win in Guam Masters Baseball League Action


Guam –  Early morning rains postponed the first two games in the five-game schedule of the Guam Masters Baseball League (GMBL) at the Paseo Stadium on Saturday.


Action got underway at 3:00 p.m. when the Yigo Hunters took on the Tamuning Twins after work was completed to make the field playable. The Twins came away with the 7-4 win over the Hunters.

At the 5:30 p.m. game, the Yona Redhawks suffered the 9-3 loss to the Docomo Mangachongs. The Mangachongs recording their first win of the season. Javier Atalig got the win giving up just one run and four hits in four innings of work. Darrel Villagomez took the loss for the Redhawks.

In the nightcap at 8:00 p.m., the Kleene Guard Cardinals got the win over the Yona Masters 11-9. The Cardinals jumped out to a 5-1 lead after one inning. The Cardinals got three more in the bottom of the second, and three more in the bottom of the fifth. Yona came back in the top of the fifth with three runs and made it close scoring five runs in the top of the seventh. Kleene Guard’s Leon Malada going 2-for-3 with a double and four rbi.
