During his tenure with DoDEA, Mr. Sheedy has served on steering committees and councils responsible for guiding numerous programs and policies related to the education of military-connected students. Sheedy has also presented professional development sessions on a wide range of topics for teachers and administrators at numerous area and district conferences.
A native of New York, Sheedy’s formative years were spent in the suburban town of Amherst. After graduating from high school, Sheedy joined the U.S. Army and served for six years in North Carolina and Germany before receiving an honorable discharge. He went on to attend the University of Maryland where he earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science and elementary education with an emphasis in instructional technology. Sheedy completed his Master of Arts in education administration and supervision at the University of Phoenix in 2007.
Sheedy is married with two children and is looking forward to returning “home” to Guam. “Jason’s experience has prepared him well to assume the leadership at Andersen Middle School,” said DoDEA Guam District Superintendent, Dr. Steve Bloom, “Mr. Sheedy will contribute to the education of each student by focusing on quality instruction and effective communication among staff, community and command.”
