Guam – Over the past several weeks the issues of Bullying and harassment within Guam’s public schools have become a concern. The Department of Education Deputy Superintendent of Finance Taling Taitano says DOE is in the process of drafting two types of contracts to handle bullying taking place at the schools.
Taitano says, “Right now we are in the process of working on a Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS) which is an answer to the bullying problem as well as a separate contract dealing with bullying. The problem is that we have one attorney who is trying to juggle various competing tasks. Its the top of our priority and we are we are trying to get to it as quickly as we can.
Taitano says they are still in the process of developing the contract and that there’s no word on when final contracts will be signed.
