The regular school year may be over, but summer school just began today.
Classes run from today through July 28th for elementary and middle schools and August 4th for high schools. According to Department of Education Deputy Superintendent Joe Sanchez, operations went smoothly today.
He says, “Today was the first day. It seems to be going well from reports from the different schools. Just a couple of teachers that needed clarification in terms of getting picked up, but they’re taking care of that. We do know that summer school right now is in all the high schools, middle schools and 10 elementary schools.”
Sanchez says bus transportation will be provided for the schools. If parents want to pick up their child, parents should check their respective schools for pick up times and locations.
