DOE Superintendent Fernandez Calls on Governor to Support 2 Bills That Would Address Facility Needs at DOE Schools

Guam – DOE Superintendent Jon Fernandez sent a letter to Governor Calvo requesting his support on Bill 225-32 and Bill 226-32.

The two bills will address the facility needs of all of the Guam Department of Education schools. Fernandez is looking for the legislation to provide a roadmap to bring all of the schools up to the highest standards in order to meet the educational needs for every student.

“We must consider the needs of all of our schools and not just a couple of them,” said Fernandez.  “We have 40 public schools in GDOE that serve 31,000 students and I want all students to have school environments that not only meet their health and safety needs but are also conducive to learning in this century.”
