DOE to Submit Supplemental Budget Request for at Least $10 Million

Guam – DOE Superintendent Dr. Nerissa Underwood says she will have to submit a supplemental budget request of at least more than $10 million dollars.

On the K-57 Breakfast Show this morning, Underwood detailed a list of additional expenses that have cropped up since the current school budget was approved. And it looks like DOE will need an additional $10 million dollars needed to meet increased personnel costs including $2.5 million dollars to cover the increased premium costs for the new GovGuam health insurance plan.

Underwood says her office is preparing the supplemental budget request now and it will be submitted to the legislature soon.
