Guam – Its almost that time of year when the Sorensen Media Group and its sponsors choose a winner for the 2016 lip dub competition titled “class act”. This year, students from competing schools will enjoy not only an awards ceremony, but a dance as well.
A total of nine high schools are involved in this years competition. Following tradition, the schools will be split into two divisions. George Washington, JFK, Okkodo, Simon Sanchez and Southern make up the large division and Academy, FD, Notre Dame, St. Paul and Tiyan High make up the small division. Competing schools will have the chance to win money and other prizes from Sorensen Media Group, burger king and ICARE Guam and the peace office. This years winners will be announced in the Chamorro ballroom at the pacific star hotel this Sunday. Event coordinator Kim Blaz tells PNC why this year is different from previous lip dub competitions.
“This year were doing something different, we’re getting the kids together at Pacific Star, in the Chamorro Ballroom and we are hosting a dance for them as well as announce the winners this Sunday on April 3rd at 2 p.m.,” Said Kim Blaz. “An awards ceremony plus a dance for the kids so all the kids can mingle after they find out who wins.”
