Guam Gets $31,779 Grant From DOT for Occupant Protection Program


Guam – Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo has announced that the Department of Transportation has awarded $31,779 in federal grant assistance to the Government of Guam. The grant was awarded through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and will go toward implementing and enforcing occupant protection programs to reduce deaths and injuries from riding unrestrained or improperly restrained in motor vehicles.

“The proper use of seatbelts and other vehicle restraints helps decrease traffic fatalities and injuries on our roadways,” said Congresswoman Bordallo.  “This grant will assist GovGuam enforce seatbelt laws and promote highway safety on Guam.  I look forward these funds benefiting our community.”
