JIC #186: DPHSS releases guidance memos on latest businesses allowed to reopen

The Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) released Guidance Memos 2020-21 and 2020-22.


DPHSS Guidance Memo 2020-21 is relative to additional businesses that have been authorized to operate during Pandemic Condition of Readiness (PCOR) 2. The following businesses have been approved for operation effective Friday, June 19, 2020 at 8:00 a.m.:

  1. Bars and Taverns at 50% occupancy rate;

  2. Childcare center facilities at not more than 50% of child enrollment;

  3. Bowling alleys;

  4. Travel agencies;

  5. Museums;

  6. Zoo; and

  7. Aquariums.

Guidance Memo 2020-22

DPHSS also issued Guidance Memo 2020-22 relative to the requirements for the opening of therapeutic massage establishments.

The identified businesses and organizations may proceed to operate after industry-specific or organization-specific plans are developed and submitted with COVID-19 prevention and control measures outlined in the document Minimum Pandemic Workplace Operational Requirements and other requirements set forth by DPHSS. Plans must be emailed to PCOR2Plans@dphss.guam.gov.
