DPHSS: Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Program Will Amend State Plan to Include TANF Requirements


Guam – The Department of Public Health and Social Services would like to inform the public of the TANF Requirements related to EBT Transactions.

Section 4004 of the Middle Class Relief and Job Creation Act of 2012 (P.L. 112-96) requires states receiving TANF Grants to maintain policies and practices as necessary to prevent assistance provided under the State program funded under this part from being used in any electronic benefit transfer transaction in any liquor store; any casino, gambling casino, or gaming establishment; or any retail establishment which provides adult-oriented entertainment in which performers disrobe or perform in any unclothed state for entertainment.”

The TANF State Plan Amendment is available for public review at the DPHSS Bureau of Economic Security Office(BES) office, Room 243, 123 Chalan Kareta, Mangilao. Any comments to the amendment must be in writing and submitted to BES office within (30) days of the publication date of this notice.
