Guam – The Guam Department of Public Health and Social Services [GDPHSS] has sent out a release that states they are “keeping abreast and responding to” the recent voluntary recall of certain brands of Australian made “Vaalia My First Yoghurt.”
The voluntary recall of the yogurt was announced by Food Standards Australia New Zealand [FSANZ].
The three varieties that are effected by the voluntary recall are:
*”Vaalia My First Yoghurt” 360g ( 6 x 60 g) plastic tubs
* And 2 varieties of “Vaalia For Toddlers” 540g (6 x 90g) plastic tubs.
The manufacturer is Parmalat Australia Ltd. of South Brisbane QLD Australia.
Parmalat believes there is a packaging fault that has caused small pieces of plastic to fall into the product when the lid is removed.
GDPHSS says that the products were distributed by Triple J Five Star Wholesaler to all Pay-Less Supermarkets. Payless has informed DPHSS that the yogurt varieties in question were only distributed to the Mangilao store. “Corrective action was taken immediately,” states the release. That apparently means they took it off the shelf.
DPHSS has not recieved any local reports that the products in question have caused any illnesses or injuries on Guam.
