DPW: Intermittent Lane Closures Southbound Route 1 Over Hagatna Bridge Thru Saturday

Guam – The Department of Public Works has issued an immediate alert that in preparation for the traffic switch into the Phase II lane configuration in the Agana Bridges Reconstruction Project, the contractor will be having intermittent lane closures on the southbound lanes of Route 1, between Routes 8 and 4, tonight and Friday night between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., and all day Saturday. One lane in each direction will be open at all times and traffic signage and construction personnel will be in place to direct traffic flow.  These lane closures are necessary for the safety of motorists and construction personnel as they remove and replace pavement markings, switch traffic onto the new southbound lanes and close the median area of Route 1 to allow the Phase II work to begin.

Motorists are advised to obey all traffic signs and expect delays while traveling in the area.
