Dr. Taitano Will Join Medical City Relief Mission to Typhoon Ravaged Iloilo


Tamuning, Guam – (November 27, 2013 ) – Local Dr. John Ray Taitano will be joining a medical mission conducted by the The Medical City (TMC) Iloilo in the typhoon-devastated areas of Iloilo province in the Philippines.

The Medical City is the parent company of the Guam Regional Medical City (GRMC).

The mission takes place Nov. 29 through Dec. 1 extends Guam’s participation in Yolanda relief medical mission work to the western side of the Visayas region. It is one of several missions led by TMC’s Iloilo hospital since the onslaught of Super Typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan. 

Taitano, who is also the president of the Guam Medical Society, will be working with doctors from TMC’s network of hospitals, clinics, and community partners in providing relief and medical assistance to communities in northern Iloilo and possibly Capiz province.

While in Iloilo, Taitano will be working with relief organizers to plan for the participation of other Guam doctors and medical professionals in the coming weeks and months.

Dr. Taitano is a retired US Army Colonel, Medical Corps and Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP).
