Guam – Committee assignments for the incoming 35th Guam Legislature are out … at least a working draft indicates which senators will be assigned to what committees.
Based on a draft of committee assignments, and as our sources have told us, Senator-elect Tina Muna Barnes will take the helm as Speaker with the following committees: Public Accountability; Human Resources, which include the GovGuam Retirement Fund, Health Insurance, Medical Referral Office and Department of Administration; and the Guam Builduip.
Telena Nelson will be designated Vice Speaker with the following committees: Education, the Guam International Airport Authority and the Bureau of Statistics and Plans.
Amanda Shelton will get Legislative Secretary and the committees of Higher Learning, Senior Citizens, Youth and Women’s Affairs.
Regine Lee will chair the Committee on Rules, Technology, Department of Labor and Federal and Foreign Relations.
Joe San Agustin will chair the Office of Finance and Budget, General Government Operations, Appropriations and Housing.
Kelly Taitano will get the Committees on Culture, and the Hagatna Restoration and Redevelopment, Department of Parks and Rec, and Micronesian Affairs.
Clynt Ridgell will get Guam Economic Development Authority, Guam Power, the Port Authority, Agriculture and Emergency Response.
Sabina Perez with the committees on environment, General Services Agency and the Rev and Tax.
Therese Terlaje with Guam Visitors Bureau, Land, Preservation, Committee on Health, and Justice while Jose Pedo Terlaje will get the Public Safety and Border committees.
These assignments still have the potential to change until the incoming legislators vote at inauguration.
