A proclamation was signed this afternoon by Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero proclaiming December as “Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over Month.”

The aim of the proclamation is to remind residents not to drink and drive during the holiday season.

In attendance at the governor’s office were Department of Public Works Director Vince Arriola, Attorney General Leevin Camacho, and representatives from the island’s car dealerships.

“I am very happy and very honored to sign this proclamation campaign. Drive sober or get pulled over. Also, be responsible. If you’ve had too much to drink, give your keys to someone else, a designated driver, the governor said.”

Last year, Guam had a total of 10 fatalities on the roads that were related to drunk driving.
