Driver arrested in Dededo auto-pedestrian accident

Guam – An arrest has been made in the fatal auto-pedestrian crash which claimed the life of a child along Mangga Court in Dededo on May 7.

Authorities identified Marleen Ewily as the driver of the vehicle which struck four-year-old Jericho Zion David.

David was transported to the Guam Regional Medical Center following the crash and was pronounced deceased by attending doctors.

Autopsy results showed that he died as a result of blunt trauma and skull fracture,The manner of death ruled accidental.

At the time of the crash, a witness at the scene said she has been worried about the speeding cars that pass through the neighborhood streets,  “This is residential. they shouldn’t be flying in and out of this road.”

Ewily was arrested for vehicular homicide and imprudent driving.  She was booked and confined.
