Driver Arrested For DUI After Collision With Motorcycle Rider


Guam – A 24 year old motorcycle rider remains in stable condition at GMH this morning after his motorcycle collided with a vehicle on Route 8 in Maite Monday evening.


The accident happened just after 7 om in front of the Red Plumeria Hotel.

GPD Spokesman Officer A.J. Balajadia reports that the motorcycle rider, a local man from Toto,  was heading West towards Route 1 on his 2006 Suzuki Motorcycle when he collided with a 2007 Nissan Versa being operated by Niberto S. Kintaro, a 31 year old Chuukese man who was turning into the Plumeria Hotel.

According to Offcier Balajadia, Kintaro failed to yield while attempting to enter the parking lot of the Red Plumaria Hotel. He cut “in front of the Suzuki path causing the crash,” said Balajadia.

Kintaro was arrested for Failure to Yield, DUI with Injuries, Cutting Corners, and Improper Left Turn. 

He has been booked and confined.
