Drought conditions to continue throughout May

Guam – According to the National Weather Service, the post El Niño drought affecting Guam and the Marianas is likely to continue throughout the month of May.

According to a release from the CNMI Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, wind flow patterns are expected to slowly change, which will help spread rainfall and hopefully cool the area during dry weather conditions.

As of now, Homeland Security is encouraging the public to conserve water and to refrain from activities that would cause a wildfire, such as burning trash and improperly discarding cigarette butts.
