DRT pays $5.8M in Guam tax refunds

On May 15, 2023, the Department of Revenue & Taxation processed and the Department of Administration mailed checks or paid by direct deposit, 2,498 Individual Tax refund payments totaling more than $5 million for Tax Year 2022 and prior error-free returns for returns filed on, or before, April 4, 2023.

Refunds paid this week total 2,498, of which 2,369 or 95% were for Early Filers for Tax Year 2022.

Refunds paid fiscal year-to-date total 39,859, of which 35,924 or 90% were paid to Early Filers for Tax Year 2022.

Refunds continue to be paid weekly. Due to the surge in the volume of returns filed for Tax Year 2022 through the filing deadline of April 18, 2023, turnaround time will continue to fluctuate between three to six weeks.

DRT noted individuals receiving payment by direct deposits will see a $0 transaction in their bank account prior to receiving$ their refunds ( -note).
