Guam – After its computer system went down, the Department of Revenue and Taxation temporarily halted some services on Tuesday morning.

The system was restored before noon.

According to DRT director Dafne Shimizu on Morning’s with Patti, despite their computer system being temporarily inoperable, both their Barrigada and Hagåtña satellite locations remained open.

As soon as the system was back up, Shimizu once again made the announcement on Newstalk k57 with Andrea Pellacani.

“We were able to get our systems up actually. As of 10, we had about 10 of our systems up, but we didn’t want to announce it until we had all of our systems up. So before noon, we were already up and running,” Shimizu said.

In a release from DRT, Shimizu said that the Treasurer of Guam was also limited to accepting manual payments, however now their system is back up, all is well. Operations are back to normal at Rev and Tax.
