Guam – Authorities are on the hunt for a teenager who escaped from the Department of Youth Affairs.
In a release, DYA says they discovered the 14-year-old boy missing around 9:13 p.m. at the Mangilao Cottage Home facility.
The male client was using the restroom at the Cottage Home and escaped within a few minutes, the release says.
“An immediate search was subsequently conducted in Mangilao, Barrigada and Latte Heights. [Guam Police Department] has been contacted to assist with the search,” the release further states.
According to DYA, the juvenile is a status offender which means the offenses he allegedly committed are not chargeable offenses in a court of law had they been committed by an adult.
DYA is asking the community to contact the Guam Police Department or Crime Stoppers with any information about the boy at 477-HELP or 4357.
The minor is described as being of Chuukese descent, standing 4’11, weighing 78 pounds. He has black hair and black eyes and has a scar on his left arm.
