The Guam Election Commission has rescheduled its ballot placement drawing for this Wednesday, Sept. 9.
According to GEC executive director Maria Pangelinan, the ballot placement drawing was supposed to have been held Monday, Sept. 7, at 5:30 pm.
However, Pangelinan said they received 10 candidates for the six available seats at the Guam Education Board and they did not finish vetting all the files in time for the original schedule.
“So we’ll be scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, at 5:30 pm and we’re gonna go via YouTube so everybody will know. The candidates will get a telephone call and an email from us letting them know that this is happening on September 9,” Pangelinan said during the GEC board meeting Monday night.
She added GEC already started calling the candidates to inform them that GEC has already vetted their candidate packets and found them to be complete. GEC will continue calling candidates tomorrow to inform them of the new date for ballot placement drawing and everything can be watched online.
Absentee in-house voting will begin on Sept. 19 all the way to the general election on Nov. 2.
