Election Day is Also All Souls Day, A GovGuam Holiday

682

Guam – Tomorrow [Tuesday] is Election Day and it is also All Souls Day which means it is a GovGuam Holiday.

Because  GovGuam employees form a key voting block, the fact that it is a holiday is likley to boost turnout.

In addition to the closure of GovGuam office, most schools and banks will be closed Tuesday.

All Souls Day is of course a religious Holiday and that means that Catholic Cemeteries will be filled with families remembering their loved ones who have passed away.

Masses will be celebrated at the cemeteries throughout the island at various times throughout the day.

And a special mass will be celebrated at the Sumay Cemetery on Naval Base Guam.  You can call the Santa Rita Mayor’s office for the schedule.
