The Guam Department of Education (GDOE), State Agency for the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) under the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Nutrition Service (FNS) is continuing the distribution of food commodities for the month of October in partnership with the local mayors and community organizations.

Recipients will receive one bag of TEFAP food commodities per household to include egg noodles, elbow macaroni, cereal, instant milk, canned pears, peaches, beef stew, lentils, green split peas, yellow split peas, long grain rice, tomato sauce, orange juice, canned pork, banana chips and dried mangoes and additional commodities as they arrive.

The distribution method used by village mayors will include a drive-through or door-to-door delivery to provide easier access to food commodities for residents while also minimizing traffic-related issues. Food commodities will be distributed on a first come, first served basis, while supplies last. Commodity distribution in each village will be available to village constituents only. Participants are reminded to wear a mask, maintain physical distancing, and follow all traffic directions and signage. The schedule is as follows:

The Yigo Mayor kindly asks that individuals carpooling obtain a Mayor’s Verification prior to the distribution date in order to verify that individuals are residing in a separate household.  In an effort to provide an opportunity for all constituents to pick-up food commodities, the Mayor sends a friendly reminder that individuals may pick-up once for their household.

If there are remaining bags from the drive-through distribution, the Yigo Mayor’s Office will deliver door-to-door, beginning on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2020.
