Guam – Always in service, representatives of various Emergency Medical Service departments on island met at Adelup for the proclamation signing of EMS Week.
Throughout last week, members of the community were able to partake in various awareness campaigns highlighting the services provided by the various EMS departments.
Also on display were the life saving apparatuses and techniques deployed in the field.
During the proclamation signing, first responders were thanked for their service and EMT of the year award winners were announced.
“And that’s what we always do, never go back, never backslide. So, every one of us are proud of the achievements that everyone of you have done and your families should be as well. And, no matter where you’re going from here, it’s always going to be up. So, congratulations, thank you for your work and your dedication, no matter where you’re working in this island. You’re saving a life, probably doing God’s work at this highest level possible. So, Si yu’us ma’ase, maraming salamat po, thank you, very much for your work,” said Lt. Governor Tenorio.
Last Friday, National Stop the Bleed Campaign” conference took place at the Dusit Thani Resort, for the 6th Annual School Nurse Conference. More than 20% of trauma deaths could be prevented each year with effective bleeding control.
