Guam – The parking lot in front of the late John Gerber’s Pacific War Museum is washing away.
A diversionary pipe in the jungle up the hill from the Museum has clogged frequently in recent months during the heavy rain fall.
The water has backed up and over-flowed into the parking lot. The heavy flow has eroded the ground under the pavement and broken-it up in various spots.
The Museum operators say they have contacted DPW about getting the drainage pipes cleaned out or having a back-hoe create a by-pass trench.
But DPW says the property is not under their jurisdiction. So Museum operators say they’re hoping to find a contractor to volunteer to clear the clogged pipes and save the parking lot and Museum from any further damage.
