Guam- The island community is in for a special fireworks treat at the Liberation Carnival grounds in Tiyan tonight [Thursday].
Sinajana Mayor Robert Hofmann says in addition to a free concert by Hawaiian artist Baba B, the “Celebrate America” Independence Day Fireworks Extravaganza will light up the skies at two spots near the carnival.
He says the Mayors Council partnered with the military, Perez Brothers Inc., the Guam Liberation Historical Society and the 69th Guam Liberation Executive Committee to make the official fireworks show comparable to the New Year’s Eve fireworks display. He invites everyone to partake in the Independence Day festivities.
“Grounds open at 6 o’clock,” said Hofmann. “And then at 9 o’clock, we have the fireworks extravaganza. It’s a 10 minute show and it’s actually happening in 2 places in Tiyan. So if you’re at the carnival grounds, you’ll be surrounded by a great fireworks show. And that’s put on by the Guam Liberation Historical Society and Perez Brothers. So we’re really proud to have them as partners and we look forward to a great and wonderful patriotic celebration.”
The company that will be launching the fireworks show is ShowPros Pyro.
All Federal and GovGuam offices, all public and private schools and most businesses are closed today for the July 4th Independence Day Holiday.
