Falling Tree Kills Ordot Man


Guam – Guam Police are conducting a death investigation after a 66 year old man was found dead under a tree Saturday evening behind his home in Ordot.

Soggy ground is throught to have loosened the roots and caused the tree to fall.

Guam Fire Department Spokesman Joey San Nicolas confirms that the man was found under the tree when medics arrived at the scene. “He was expired at the scene,” said San Nicolas. His name has not been released.

Guam Police Spokesman A.J. Balajadia reports that Officers from the Hagatna Precinct arrived at Chalan Famha Street in Ordot around 7:16 pm Saturday evening.

Family members told the Officers that the man had been cleaning this area around the tree Saturday morning. The area around the tree was muddy and appeared to be wet from previous rains last week.  

“A tree with its roots partially uprooted fell and it appears the individual was with its path.,” reports Balajadia.

An autopsy will be performed this afternoon [Monday].
