Guam- Since October of last year, the Family Justice Center has been reaching out to the community to help all victims of violence.
During a presentation to the Mayors Council, Victims Advocate Brenda Presto says the center is essentially a one stop center for victims of family violence, sexual assault and stalking.
With family violence cases on the rise, Presto mentions Guam Police, the Attorney General’s Office, the Alee Shelter, Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, and other organizations have teamed up to offer legal, advocacy and counseling services to victims of all ages.
“That’s why we’re also here…to let the public know and the council know that we do exist” said Presto. “We welcome those of those types of circumstances to come. We’re there to help. We’re there to support.”
The Family Justice Center is temporarily located at the GPD Dededo Precinct. However, they are looking for a more central location in the coming months. For more information, call (671) 635-9114.
