Farm to Table Guam is offering a new service to bring more revenue to local farmers while also helping the community eat more healthfully.
Guam – Bringing fresh fruits and vegetables home can be as easy as subscribing to a magazine.Farm To Table Guam is launching a new Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Subscription Service later this month.
For $300 CSA subscribers will have a new box of local produce each week for six weeks. A new box of produce will be available for pick-up at the Farm to Table office or the Mangilao Night Market.
“It’s a variety of at least ten different fruits, vegetables, roots, and herbs and spices,” Community Outreach Assistant Cassie Brady told PNC. “It depends whats in season.”
Registration will open at 10am May 14th but you’ll have to act quickly if you want to participate.
“It’s like a rock concert the first thirty that sign up are going to be the thirty that get the boxes,” Program Director Melanie Mendiola said. “Then once that 30 closes the subscription actually starts on May 28th.”
The boxes will also include recipes, nutritional values, storage tips for the contents of the box, and farmer profiles.
