Guam recorded its 8th fatal traffic related accident this morning.
It happened on Route 15 in Yigo by the former Anderson South Housing area.
Guam police spokesman Sgt. Paul Tapao reports that a vehicle ran off the roadway and crashed into a concrete power pole.
Officers from the Dededo Precinct Command got the call at 1:15 AM. When they arrived they found the man who was driving the vehicle “lifeless” at the scene. Sgt. Tapao said he had “no pulse.”
He was subsequently transported to the Guam Memorial Hospital Morgue.
No other vehicles were involved and the victim was the only occupant of the vehicle.
Traffic investigators have yet to determine if speed, alcohol, or drugs were factors in the crash, said Sgt. Tapao.

Traffic investigators from GPD’s Highway Patrol Division were activated to assume a fatal auto crash that occurred in Route 15, Yigo by the former Anderson South Housing.
On Thursday April 9 at around 1:15am, officers from the Dededo Precinct Command responded to a single auto crash that occurred in Route 15, Yigo by the former Anderson South Housing.
The preliminary police reports suggest that a white sedan was traveling west on Route 15 in Yigo towards Mangilao, when the operator of the vehicle lost control and ran off the roadway and collided with a concrete utility pole.
When officers arrived the male operator was found lifeless with no pulse and was subsequently transported to the Guam Memorial Hospital Morgue.
This case remains open as traffic investigators have yet to determine if speed alcohol or drugs were factors with the crash.
