Fatality in Route 15 Mangilao crash was a 30-year-old male

On Monday, June 21, 2021, traffic investigators assigned to GPD’S Highway Patrol Division were activated to assume a fatal crash investigation that occurred on Route 15 by Hawaiian Rock in Mangilao.

Preliminary reports suggest that a Toyota RAV4 was traveling west towards Route 10, collided with a Mazda 3 that was traveling in the opposite direction on the westbound shoulder of Route 15 Mangilao, by Hawaiian Rock.

As a result of the crash, the 30-year-old male operator of the Mazda 3 was transported to Guam Regional Medical City for treatment and care. He later had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by attending physicians.

A male passenger was transported to Guam Memorial Hospital for treatment and care.

The operator of the Toyota RAV4 was also transported to Guam Memorial Hospital for treatment and care.

This case remains open as traffic investigators have yet to determine if speed, alcohol, or drugs were factors in the crash.
